Prepping, masking and sanding – Hours spent on preparing the surface and protecting the surrounding areas, allows for the best canvas to create that flawless effect.
Filling and Block sanding – An invisible finish is achieved by building layers of art mediums, building a colour rich look with a luxurious feel.
Grain painting – Viva creates a seamless transitional finish, using many techniques to enhance the authentic grain using a combination of brushes, pens, stains, powders and waxes.
Sealing and varnishing, One and Two part varnishes – these techniques reflect the age and use of each individual yacht.
Sailing Yachts often lend themselves to a “1 Part” finish, providing more flexibility and movement with the natural wood, being naturally dried in the sun and fresh air.
Whereas Motor Yachts generally require a “2 Part” finish to allow for more durability. The chemical reaction created provides a “glass” like finish with a greater longevity.
French Polishing – “The Aged Art Form”. This process created with love and experience offers an excellent finish when Varnishing is not required. Again, the artistic blending of colours, grains and surface detail totally conceals any repair work, bringing light and warmth back to its original condition… and often better.
